Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor shared a stirring tribute Chris Cornell on Instagram this week, posting a brief snippet of an intimate piano version of Audioslave’s 2002 song “Getaway Car”—watch it down below.

“A little tribute to a sorely missed artist,” Taylor captioned the touching clip, saluting the late Soundgarden frontman who unexpectedly died last May. Earlier this week, System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian joined Prophets Of Rage (and Rage Against The Machine) members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk—the former instrumentalists of Cornell’s Audioslave—for a live concert cover of the one-time supergroup’s “Like A Stone.”

As noted by Metal Hammer, Taylor previously paid tribute to Chris Cornell with Stone Sour’s cover of Soundgarden’s classic “Outshined” (just hours after the musician’s death) at Ohio's Rock On The Range festival last year. “He was one of my favourite singers, he was one of my favorite all-time songwriters,” Taylor told the crowd at the festival gig. “And the fact that he’s gone makes this world a little bit smaller.”
