Coronavirus causes Lush, Urban Outfitters to temporarily close stores

Urban Outfitters, Nike and more stores have announced temporary store closures in response to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Abercrombie & Fitch, Apple, Lush and more have announced they will close many or all of their stores, with some not re-opening until the end of March.

Aside from the closures, other retailers such as Walmart have been shortening the hours their retailers are open each day.

Starting March 15, Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets will be open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until further notice. This will help ensure associates can clean and stock products. Stores operating under more reduced hours will keep current hours of operation. https://t.co/xw5GuNFQ0F

On Friday, President Donald Trump declared that the U.S. was in a state of emergency over the virus. This came just days after the World Health Organization classified the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic.

Many artists had to cancel or postpone shows due to the crisis to keep people safe. On March 12, promoters Live Nation and AEG postponed all of their current and future tours due to coronavirus.

Additionally, some movie theaters have restricted their theater capacities as a response to the outbreak.

Many states have all implemented public gathering regulations, restricting the number of people that can attend public events.
