Hear Craig Owens transform Chiodos’ “Baby, You Wouldn’t Last A Minute On The Creek”

Craig Owens has shared that his first solo album, VOLUME 1, is coming this summer, which reimagines tracks from his past projects, including Chiodos, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, badXchannels, and Isles & Glaciers. The record arrives Aug. 18 via Velocity Records.

Along with the announcement, he’s offering the first preview with a reworked version of the Chiodos classic “Baby, You Wouldn’t Last A Minute On The Creek.” The contrast between the two songs is stark, going from a chaotic post-hardcore ripper to a grand, piano-driven ballad.

“‘Baby, You Wouldn’t Last A Minute on the Creek’ is a song about a relationship that has reached a point of stagnation or dissatisfaction and a desire to end a relationship that has lost its spark and meaning. The song portrays a sense of disillusionment, a desire for a clean break, and an acknowledgment that walking away is the best course of action despite the pain,” Owens says.

Additionally, Owens launches his U.S. headline tour today in Denver and will wrap July 8 in St. Louis, Missouri. Kurt Travis and Moxy the Band with Voila will open on select dates, and you can grab tickets here.
