Crash The Calm share live session of "Holes" (exclusive)

“When I wrote this song, I just wanted people to feel as despondent, lost, and depressed as I did at that moment,” acknowledges Crash The Calm frontman Brian Dowling. “But I also wanted there to be hope”. An unadulterated effort in 21st century grunge (pulling from the likes of Balance and Compure and ambiance of Circa Surive), “Holes” was the first cut Dowling penned following a Bipolar diagnosis. A challenging time for anyone, at that moment Dowling decided to look forward instead of harping on the past. Ryan Sweeney, Matt Bodt, Pat Smith and Connor Holzmann complete the five-piece, Long Island-based outfit.

Originally released in mid-August as a “Name Your Own Price” download via Bandcamp, “Holes” now has a visual accompaniment thanks in part to the efforts of video director/director of photography Robert J. Mosher, editor Samuel Halleen, and the team at Downport Records. Catch the live session footage just below.

“Holes” is set to be included on Crash The Calm's debut full length effort, due out Summer 2016. Dowling and co. will be hitting VuDu Studios the first week of January to layout the tracks alongside producer Dominic Nastasi and producer/recording engineer Nicholas Starrantino. Ahead of those session, Long Islanders can catch the crew during a pair of November dates.
