Crown The Empire are a science experiment gone wrong in new video

Crown The Empire dropped a video for a second single, “what i am.”

The band previously released a video for “20/20,” which was Crown The Empire’s first taste of new music since 2016’s full-length Retrograde.

“what i am” has the band performing behind a one-way mirror, leading to an explosive ending for a science experiment gone wrong.

According to frontman Andy Leo, the new track is the most important one the band has yet to release.

“‘what i am’ is the most important Crown the Empire song we have released yet,” Leo says. “Throughout the past few years, I have been involved in some rough relationships with various people. I spent a lot of time writing the lyrics to this song because I was not having an easy time being so vulnerable and I had to get these words out for my own sanity.”

“It’s hard for anyone to ask themselves, ‘Did I make the right decision here? Am I being selfish or am I finally focusing on myself to be a better and happier person?,’” he continues. “The answer was 100% ‘yes’ and I hope that this song will help anyone who feels the same way.”

Crown The Empire are currently on the tour in Europe. The band will join Dance Gavin Dance and The Plot In You in supporting Underoath later this fall. Tickets for all dates are available now.
