Watch the first trailer for Daphne and Velma's ‘Scooby Doo’ spinoff

There's no denying that we still love Scooby-Doo, so the news of the Daphne and Velma's origin story had us too excited. Lucky for us, the first trailer is here—and it's promising plenty of mystery.

As previously reported, the live-action feature-length film, produced by none other than Jennifer and Ashley Tisdale, is set to tell the story of Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley “before they team up with Scooby and the rest of the Mystery Inc. gang.”

And finally, the first official trailer is here. Entertainment Weekly further explains that in Daphne And Velma, the mystery-loving BFFs “discover a number of questionable disappearances on campus as kids who were once full of life appear to become 'zombified.'”

“Blondie Girl is committed to telling stories from a female perspective and we could not be more thrilled to give Daphne and Velma their own story,” Ashley and Jennifer Tisdale told Variety. “It’s so exciting to partner with Warner Home Entertainment and Blue Ribbon Content to introduce a new generation to the smart, charismatic, fearless females that we all know and love.”

Sarah Jeffery has been cast as Daphne, and Sarah Gilman has been cast as Velma. The film is set to be released on digital, Blu-ray and DVD May 22.
