Dave Grohl says Nandi Bushell shows “the true meaning of rock ‘n’ roll”
In the video’s description, Bushell states that her dream is to “one day jam with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, and all the @Foo Fighters!”
Grohl accepted Bushell’s challenge, and after a few rounds of their virtual drum-off, the young musician emerged victorious from the challenge.
The young drummer’s dream to jam with Foo Fighters came true as she played the drums to “Everlong.”
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Grohl shares how much of a positive effect Bushell has already made in both the music world and with Foo Fighters.
“To watch her play the drums and see her passion and belief in this music,” he continues. “...If that doesn’t inspire you, I don’t know what will.”
Grohl concludes by discussing his experience with sharing the stage with Bushell and the unexpected benefit after her performance.
“So, the fact that we got to share a moment with her onstage makes all of this worthwhile,” Grohl says. “And the funniest is, after jamming with Nandi, ‘Everlong’ went back on the charts.”
The drummer has already gone on to accomplish numerous achievements such as being the youngest person to be featured on the cover of Modern Drummer, Cartoon Network’s first “kid-musician-in-residence” as well as meeting and jamming with musical influences such as Grohl, Tom Morello and more.
