‘Deadpool’ future confirmed after Disney, Fox merger

Disney has confirmed that Deadpool won’t be going anywhere since the company merged with 21st Century Fox.

Disney chairman Alan Horn spoke at a presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday, and discussed the franchise.

“You’ll be seeing more of Deadpool in the years to come,” he said.

During the presentation, Horn showed a tweet from Ryan Reynolds, who played the titular character. Reynolds tweeted a joke about the merger after it was announced featuring his character on a school bus sporting Mickey Mouse ears.

Feels like the first day of ‘Pool,” the tweet reads.

Disney’s merger means that now, Deadpool could join other characters, such as the Avengers, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In other news, last December a PG-13 re-release of Deadpool 2 dubbed Once Upon A Deadpool. The film was the first Marvel movie to hit theaters since Marvel icon Stan Lee passed away.  In the film included a special segment to Lee in the re-release.
