Gibbard has been doing a livestream series of performances from his home studio for fans while people are self-isolating.

With the complete shutdown of concerts and other large gatherings, musicians have been finding new ways to perform for fans. Countless tours and festivals, as well as movies, sports leagues, conferences and more, have been postponed or canceled while people are unable to physically gather together.

Code Orange were early in setting an example for musicians by performing their record release show to an empty venue. They livestreamed the performance with thousands tuning in from across the world.

The “Live From Home” sessions will see daily performances with fans being able to request songs and various guests will join digitally.

During the first session, he performed the Postal Service‘s “We Will Become Silhouettes,” Death Cab For Cutie’s “Crooked Teeth” and more. You can check that out below.

Today, Gibbard took a pause from the daily performances sharing a brand new track he’s written.

The song is fittingly titled “Life In Quarantine” and is dedicated to Seattle. After playing the track, he shares his thoughts on how to keep the world moving along recommending donating extra tents or sleeping bags to Seattle homeless shelter Aurora Commons if possible.

You can check out the new track below.

If you’re looking for ways to continue practicing social distancing, take a look at how some musicians are encouraging it.
