Lovato has had enough of the vapidity that surrounds them in “SUBSTANCE.” In the music video, Lovato dodges selfies, mocks ancient anti-drug PSAs and even steals a device that looks strikingly similar to Too Hot to Handle‘s Lana.

“SUBSTANCE” follows Lovato’s “SKIN OF MY TEETH.” The track began Lovato’s pop-punk era, complete with gritty electric guitar and a fierce vocal performance.

When asked via Twitter what makes their new project unique, Lovato responded saying, “I’m excited to go back to my rock roots!”

Earlier this July, Lovato made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonwhere they gifted the host a personalized version of the HOLY FVCK album featuring his face on Lovato’s body.
