Destroy Lonely kicks off a new era with the hazy single “if looks could kill”

With last year’s sublime mixtape, NO STYLIST, Destroy Lonely cemented himself as one to watch. Now, the rapper is beginning his next era with a new single, “if looks could kill.”

The track comes from his debut album of the same name, set to drop later this year via Opium/Interscope. On the new song, Destroy Lonely sounds more self-assured than ever, despite an earlier version leaking and garnering over 200,000 streams and 75 million views on TikTok. “Don’t commit treason, everything I do is for a reason/Everything I do is so strategic,” he raps slyly.

Destroy Lonely clearly has big plans for 2023 as he continues to test the boundaries of the genre. Today, the rapper will hit the stage at Rolling Loud LA and then launch into an international run, including stops in Berlin, London, and Amsterdam.
