Brands are cutting ties with Dolls Kill over Black Lives Matter comments
After calls for boycotts of fashion company Dolls Kill happened this week over their owner’s post regarding the current Black Lives Matter protests, clothing brand Broken Promises, as well as Killstar, are pledging to terminate their partnership with them immediately.
Last night (June 4), Broken Promises released a statement addressing their stance on the issue while cutting ties.

Broken Promises say they are “disappointed by Dolls Kill’s recent actions and owner Shoddy Lynn’s recent posts. We do not in any way condone those statements and they are not a representation of Broken Promises’ position in these matters. However, we understand it is our responsibility to address this situation with our business partner and take action.”
Continuing, they say “Therefore, Broken Promises is terminating our relationship with Dolls Kill effective immediately and will not be shipping any additional orders.”
“Broken Promises has always been a place for championing justice, diversity, and inclusivity. These values have been in our brand DNA since day one and we stand by them. We are all accountable for our own actions, but we know we have an obligation to speak up, educate ourselves and others, and better the system in any way we can. We value the input of every customer, follower, and fan. Thank you for your continued support.”
Killstar is similarly cutting ties after customers emailed the company with their concerns. Some are pointing out that the company has other issues they would like addressed though.

Killstar “supporting” Black Lives Matter and talking about unity is a fucking joke.
When I was getting verbally abused along with other minorities at their US office they didn’t do a damn thing about it.
Wher was the unity then?
Stop supporting Killstar.

Earlier in the week, the owner’s post was addressed online with numerous people bringing up past instances of the company selling offensive clothing on top of the recent post.

Then, the company offered a statement apologizing saying they “fucked up” and “should have been quicker [and] louder.”
In their statement, Dolls Kill states they’re pledging to purchase $1 million worth of product from black-owned designers and brands with a portion of proceeds to be donated to Black Lives Matter.
Elijah Daniel has also stated on his Twitter account that Dolls Kill’s CEO is allegedly trying to sue him now.
