Doyle calls out “scumbags” who steal music, respects Taylor Swift, Post Malone
Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein has recently denounced meet and greets, as well as the reason he feels he has to do them.
In a Liquid Conversations podcast that truly covers all the bases, Doyle explains that the current state of the industry is intensely different. According to Doyle, consumers oftentimes steal music. In doing so, Doyle says he has to “make up for” it by doing $50 meet and greets that he doesn’t want to do.

“The thing that sucks the most about it is that everybody steals music. You spend thousands and thousands of dollars to make a record and all of these scumbags are just stealing it,” Doyle says. “And then they want more, and then you’re a dick because you’re doing a meet and greet for 50 fucking bucks to make up for it, which you don’t want to do. You think I want to meet all these fucking people? I don’t.”
To combat the problem, Doyle says that the internet should shut down for a day. Additionally, the guitarist says that music consumers that steal tracks should be fined up to $10,000.
“They can kiss my ass, Doyle continues. “You want to steal shit? If I was making motorcycles and they came and took one, would that be a crime? Why can’t we punish people for stealing songs? There should be a $10,000 fine for that.”
Doyle additionally calls out streaming services such as Spotify. He claims that musicians and bands make around one-hundredth of every penny earned.

On a lighter note, the rest of the interview talks about fitness, self-promotion and Doyle’s respect for Post Malone and Taylor Swift.
“Do you know how hard that girl fucking works? She doesn’t stop all day. I guarantee you,” Doyle says of Swift. “She gets up early as fuck, she has some coffee, she takes a shit, she’s got makeup on, she’s doing press, she’s doing this, she’s doing that. By the time her show comes up, she does the show, this is not bullshit.”
“I don’t care who you are man,” Doyle continues. “There’s artists and stuff I don’t like, but when I see them doing great, I’m a fan of that. I’m a fan of seeing bands doing great, or seeing artists do fucking great. You know what I mean? Even if they’re the worst thing in the world and it makes me mad to just to hear their name, I’m a fan of them making it. Shit’s hard.”
