A musician is plotting a US drive-in tour with films as opening acts
While concerts are currently unable to happen as we remember them, some people are finding new ways to perform without putting people at risk of catching the coronavirus which electronic artist Marc Rebillet is doing with a drive-in concert tour.
What started as a few shows happening at drive-ins across Europe has blown up into the first drive-in concert tour in the US.

Rebillet is performing a seven-date tour starting in June.
Physical distancing will be taking place at concerts in North Carolina, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Instead of having opening acts on the tour, he’s opting to screen short films before each show.
Attendees are also going to have the ability to buy food, drinks and merchandise at the shows.
A portion of the tour’s proceeds are going towards GlobalGiving Coronavirus Relief Fund.
In Arkansas, one of the first-ever physical distancing concerts is taking place on May 15.
Travis McCready from country-rock band Bishop Gunn is hosting the first concert in the state following Governor Asa Hutchinson’s announcement on Monday that indoor venues could hold shows again.
The venue hosting the concert, TempleLive, will be fogged and sanitized by a third party company prior to the event. From there, attendees will be enforced to keep socially distant in line. They will have their temperatures checked before entering the venue and are required to wear masks. All touch points will be constantly wiped down by TempleLive staff who are also required to wear masks.
In addition, staff enforcing strict one-way walkways and allowing no more than 10 in a restroom at a time, Ticketmaster is also selling tickets to the concert in what they’re calling “fan pods.”
The pods are groups of between 2-12 seats throughout the venue. They separate attendees and cause them to avoid mingling with one another. You can read more about the restrictions on the show here.
Now, Rebillet is hosting a different kind of tour that won’t have quite as many requirements since everyone will be in their cars.
