Dropkick Murphys announce Fenway Park shows with Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Boston's favorite sons, Dropkick Murphys, have announced the biggest headlining shows of their career, scheduled for Sept. 8 and 9 at Fenway Park in their hometown. Alongside DKM will be fellow Bostonians the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, as well as additional acts TBA. The shows, still pending city approval, will have the stage set up atop the right field bullpen, with seating available in the bleachers and limited grandstand sections. A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund as well as the band's own Claddagh Fund.

“We feel honored and privileged to share a connection and friendship with the Boston Red Sox,” says DKM bassist/vocalist Ken Casey in a statement. “Our involvement in the 2004 and 2007 championship seasons are some of the greatest highlights of our career and our lives. But to be invited by the Sox to join the select few who have performed full concerts at the park is truly a dream come true!”

“Playing rock and roll in Fenway Park with my longtime pals and close friends Dropkick Murphys is truly a dream come [true],” says Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett. “How many people's dreams come true for a really good cause?”

Tickets will go on sale July 7 at noon EST here.
