Inside A Dream follows the departure of guitarist and oldest brother Jamie Sierota from the band, comprised of all siblings. Vocalist Sydney Sierota explains, "That literally forced us on a journey of having to discover this sound. We still had electric guitars, but they weren't the center of the music anymore."

The album trades guitar-centered alt-pop songs for a more mature sound with vintage synths and drum machines, which are present on their new single.
