Ex-Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland found dead at 48 - UPDATED

UPDATE: Friday, December 4 at 6:45 p.m.

Billboard reports that Scott Weiland’s bassist, Tommy Black, has been arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance, later identified as cocaine. It was found inside Black’s area of the tour bus shared with Weiland.

Scott Weiland's wife, Jamie, has confirmed his death with the Los Angeles Times.

Former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has reportedly died at age 48. TMZ reports that he was found on his tour bus in Minnesota earlier this evening. 

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro tweeted “our friend Scott Weiland has died” at 11:01 p.m. CST.
