Exclusive preview: Punk rock comics zine "As You Were" - Issue 2: The Pit

Some people wouldn't make the association between punk-rock and comics, but curator Mitch Clem challenges that perception with As You Were, a punk comics anthology zine created as an outlet for punks to share their love of art and music in one place.

The first issue featured 72 pages of cartoonists drawing under the theme “House Shows.” The second issue is themed: “The Pit” with 80 pages of brand new content.

Illustrated by Liz Prince, the comic below expresses her grievances towards cell phone use at shows, centered around a particularly annoying experience at a Teenage Bottle Rocket and Masked Intruder show.

The second issue will be making its first premiere at the SPX (Small Press Expo) independent comic book convention this weekend in Maryland and then from the Silver Sprocket booth at San Francisco's Alternative Press Expo in October. The zine will be available to order online via Silver Sprocket.
