Exclusive: Tom Williams (Stray From The Path) on the NHL playoffs

Stray From The Path guitarist Tom Williams (left) is an avid hockey fan and with the NHL playoffs happening right now, Williams wanted to opine just a bit on the happenings thus far. Check it out below.

“I'm surprised that I am still alive after these playoffs. I was on stage in London, Ontario at the Music Hall playing a show. Right before our set, the Capitals took the lead against the New York Rangers in Game 5. Right in the middle of our song “Mad Girl” I glanced at the screen over the bar of the venue we were playing, to see Broadway Brad Richards net the game tying goal with 6.6 seconds left. I turned to our drummer Dan and started screaming, “Fuck yeah!” in his face and he had no idea what was going on.

These playoffs have been incredible. The Los Angeles Kings sweeping the very hot St. Louis Blues, and becoming an eighth-seeded team that has only lost once so far. The Devils are upsetting the dogshit Philadelphia Flyers, and the Rangers and Capitals are putting on a fucking show with their series. Although the series is 3-2 Rangers, it isn't over yet, and I'm sure my blood pressure will be super high over the next couple days. (The Captials have since won Game 6 of the series, tying it at three games a piece and forcing a decisive Game 7 to be played Saturday night. –ed.)

Hockey is fucking sick.”

Stray From The Path will be performing at Bamboozle next weekend in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
