Fan-made ‘Fresh Prince’ trailer gives show a 2019 makeover
A fan-made trailer has surfaced for a fake Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot that has us wishing this was a real thing. The trailer takes our favorite TV series and places it in 2019, cutting the title to simply, Bel-Air.
"Now this is a story all about how, a fan turned Fresh Prince upside down...."
Created by Sun Squared Media, this fake trailer is asking all the hard questions.
"What would happen if Will Smith made The Fresh Prince today? Bel-Air, a story of a kid from Philly whose life got turned upside-down... in 2019."
Originally played by Will Smith, our new re-imagined Will finds himself sent to live with his Uncle and Auntie after being busted by police in possession of a firearm.
Check out the trailer, below.
This four-minute clip has us wishing this was an official reboot.
Rumors of a female-centered reboot for the series surfaced last year, with TMZ reporting that the company who owned the rights to the show had been filing trademarks for Fresh Princess.
Not much has been mentioned on the reboot since.
In other Fresh Prince news...
Alfonso Ribeiro, better known as Carlton Banks, was suing Epic Games for mimicking his famous Carlton Dance.
You can see a video of the side-by-side comparison below.
Ribeiro reportedly dropped the lawsuit after his request to trademark the dance was denied by the U.S. Copyright Office.
Ribeiro was not the only person suing Fortnite over a dance. Back in November, 2 Milly claimed game makers stole his dance move. Many know the rapper for his viral dance craze called the “Milly Rock”. It’s been used by other artists, athletes and appears in Fortnite.
