Fan suing Steve Aoki over stage diving-induced injury

DJ/producer Steve Aoki is being sued over a stage diving-induced injury from 2012, (via LA Times).

The plaintiff, Brittany Hickman, claims Aoki tossed a blow-up raft onto the crowd and jumped on it, causing her to fall over and break both her neck and ankle.

“I was trapped underneath the pool raft because they threw it out right where I was standing,” explains Hickman to San Diego's ABC 10 News. “My friends told me he landed on top of the pool raft, hit me on top of the head and I got knocked over.”

Aoki's representatives spoke briefly with the Times on the producer's behalf:

I would never want anyone to get hurt at any of my shows and feel badly that someone has, but at this time I have been advised by my attorneys to not speak about this as it’s going to trial. Thank you for your understanding.

This is far from the first instance of stage diving-induced controversy. Remember when Joyce Manor's frontman pulled a stage-diver back onstage and shamed him in front of the crowd? Now, with Aoki, we're in a different genre entirely, but yet the same issue. What are your thoughts? Should stage diving be banned?
