10 bands who totally rocked ‘Letterman’

On Wednesday night, David Letterman said farewell to America during his final episode as host of the Late Show—and it was truly the end of an era. But it was a fitting end to an over-30-year career as one of the late night kings, and, of course, it was closed out by a rocking performance from Foo Fighters. Dave’s brought on a lot of great musical acts over the years (Jimmy may have him beat, though), so here we celebrate 10 of the best performances.

1. Green Day – “Basket Case”

2. Blink-182 – “The Rock Show”

3. Sum 41 – “Still Waiting”

4. No Doubt – “Just A Girl”

5. My Chemical Romance – “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”

6. Fall Out Boy – “Dance, Dance”

7. Foo Fighters w/ Zac Brown – “War Pigs” (Black Sabbath cover)

8. Marilyn Manson – “Personal Jesus”

9. Shiny Toy Guns – “Le Disko”

10. Neon Trees – “Your Surrender”
