2014 Readers Poll: Band That Should Reunite In 2015

When a band we love decides to call it quits, it can be downright devastating. Still, we often hold the hope that one day they could return. Here are the artists you would welcome most warmly if they decided to return in 2015.

My Chemical Romance
(with 56 percent of the votes!)

YOU SAY: “It took a lot of thinking and inner debating to decide whether or not I was going to choose My Chemical Romance . As they are my favorite band of all time, it should've been an easy choice, right? Well, it wasn't. My Chem means something. It had a distinct purpose, unlike most bands. It was a sort of therapy for vocalist, Gerard Way, as he's described it in interviews. He spoke on how he had it all planned and how it was supposed to end after The Black Parade. Danger Days, Conventional Weapons, and May Death Never Stop You were never meant to happen. My Chem served its purpose and continued, but it wasn't supposed to. The inherent darkness and desperation of their first three releases were almost short-changed with the release of the utterly flamboyant Danger Days. Gerard tried to push the feelings that created the first three, the darkness, but it wasn't there for him, and it just didn't work. That's why it ended. The end was overdue and the concept was milked past dry. This brings me to why MCR ever existed. It was supposed to help its fans alongside its members. Gerard consistently spoke on the importance of its purpose and how they wouldn't even be successful if they didn't do it for the right reasons, with the right passions. It's selfish, so unbelievably selfish, for me to say that I want My Chemical Romance back. Every part of me wants more material and to see them live just once and to have more to grasp onto. I guess My Chem served their purpose for me, personally. They meant–well, they mean something to me. I know they can't come back, though. I know that it wouldn't do for them what it would do for me and it could actually be detrimental to the four consistent members to bring back that darkness. Because My Chemical Romance was darkness, but it was a darkness that fueled so much light in me, and in the rest of the MCRmy..”

Runners-up:

UnderoathUnderoath
YOU SAY: This really doesn't need a explanation. Underoath paved the way for what is metalcore today. They forced the genre upon the casual listener and even mainstream listeners, bringing it to an audience that wasn't present before. Although not the heaviest of acts, if you asked bands in the genre today who one of their main influences are, 95 percent of them would say UO.
Zack Foley – Manhattan, KS

DRUGSD.R.U.G.S.
YOU SAY: I would have said Underoath, but I feel like it’s alright and they left on good terms, but DRUGS was such a tease to me. Why would they put out such a solid first album and then just leave? Craig has the voice of an angel, and the fact that he found a band to perfectly complement that with a pretty basic metalcore sound but still be unique like Chiodos-… I am getting sad just thinking about this. I need a minute alone.
Robert Doumeng – Centereach, NY
