Norma Jean, 'Wrongdoers' | Alternative PressNORMA JEAN
TITLE: Wrongdoers
LABEL: Razor & Tie
RELEASE DATE: August 6
Maintaining the same level of excellence they achieved on 2010’s Meridional, Norma Jean serve updoses of frenzied aggression ranging from 50 seconds (“Afterhour Animals”) to the near 15-minute mark (“Sun Dies, Blood Moon”). [JP]

O'Brother, Disillusion | AltPressO'BROTHER
TITLE: Disillusion
LABEL: Triple Crown
RELEASE DATE: August 20
Amid tours with Thrice, Circa Survive, Manchester Orchstra and Alice In Chians, this Atlanta band found time to write and record their sophomore LP, Disillusion, which is 10 songs and nearly 54 minutes of genre-bending post-metal that is as operatic as it is destructive. The band are so good at this stuff, both of the nine-minute songs on Disillusion—”Oblivion” and the title track—feel like they fly by in nearly half the time. Expect this record to end up on a lot of year-end best-of lists. [SH]

We Came As Romans, 'Tracing Back Roots' | Alternative PressWE CAME AS ROMANS
TITLE: Tracing Back Roots
LABEL: Equal Vision
RELEASE DATE: July 23
The Detroit six-piece's third album is the first that features vocalist David Stephens incorporating some clean singing into the metalcore band's music. In regards to how the album looks, WCAR once again tapped Paul Romano to create the album's cover art. [BM]
