The beloved soul singer Aretha Franklin died Thursday morning surrounded by family and friends in her Detroit home at the age of 76, her family confirmed in a statement to CNN. The official cause of death was advanced pancreatic cancer.
Musicians have taken to social media to pay tribute to the music icon, often referred to as the Queen of Soul.
