On The Road Again: Before You Exit, Part Four

[The Orlando, FL pop-rock quartet Before You Exit are currently on their first cross-country tour in a bus. As they travel, the band will be filling AP in on how the tour is going. This is part four of the series! Photos by Chris Martin.]

San Diego
The morning of the San Diego show started out pretty intense. The guys and I all started a sweaty game of football in the airport parking lot, where we had been parked for the night. We headed to the House Of Blues San Diego after that, which was one of the nicest venues. An hour before our set, I realized we left a guitar at the bus which was parked 2 miles away! Because we had no vehicle to get around, I had to drive the After Party’s van to the bus in less than 15 minutes, but got lost. Ahh! I ended up getting back in perfect time for the show and the rest of the night was a success.

Anaheim, California
Today we are near the “other” Disney, Disneyland, and we played at the House Of Blues. It was an early show, literally mid-day, and the crowd was still super-energetic and fun! It was great seeing some really familiar faces from our previous All Time Low tour a year ago. We also played a bus party and a house party that night. It was a long but very fun day!

Los Angeles, California
The big Hollywood show! I always get the best feeling when we roll into L.A. for a show. The whole vibe of the city is great. We did a really cool interview/acoustic performance for this website called Front Row Live Entertainment, who actually interviewed us on the All Time Low tour as well, so their faces were familiar. We had a bunch of friends come up that we hadn’t seen in awhile, who had never seen us play, so it was awesome they got to do that. L.A. is always a whirlwind, because there’s so much to do and always so little time when you’re on tour, but the show was absolutely insane and the crowd was top-notch. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Tucson, Arizona
After a day off in LA, we drove to our next stop in Tucson, Arizona. The venue we played was one called The Rock, which [we played on] the All Time Low Tour. The stage is interesting, with a miniature runway-type setup, but the crowd was insane. Everyone packed into this room and the kids instantly went wild. We also made our way across the street to this famous sub shop that we visited now on both tours. Arizona was insane, and we can’t wait to go back!

Queen Creek, Arizona
Thankfully the drive from Tucson was only two hours, so we had a lot of chill time in Queen Creek. This show was in a huge, school-type theater that looked like Beauty And The Beast should have been going on instead of a concert! The show ended up being a great as always, but I did end up spraining my foot, which was a bit of a bummer.

San Antonio, Texas
We played at the White Rabbit today. Thomas and I went to eat at a local burger place before the show. The show was like playing in a sauna; it was incredibly hot. The crowd was still fun and going crazy as we burned alive, and we had an awesome time talking with them after the show. It was a relief from the heat. We had a visitor after the show that wanted to ride with us—a stray dog ran up onto our bus and tried to get in for good. We had to take him out and as I was closing a bay door he jumped in on top of all our stuff. Sadly, we had to take him out, after I took out everything in the bay.

Dallas, Texas
Back in Dallas playing here for the second time in the same room at the House Of Blues! We played the Cambridge Room there once before with All Time Low in November of 2010, and now again with Allstar Weekend in February of 2012. We arrived at the venue and found out that there was a burlesque dance show in the big room, which was fun to watch. I got to see some of my good friends that live in Graham, Texas; they came out to the show and hung out for a little bit. The end of the night was without a doubt the coolest part, because I got to meet the lead singer for Bowling For Soup, Jaret Reddick. He watched our set and said he liked our band, which almost made me pee myself. (Just kidding!) Overall, it was a pretty solid night!

Houston, Texas
Houston Texas was an early show with an early wake-up call for showers and breakfast. We loaded in at the House Of Blues and did our usual shower rotation in the venue. The House Of Blues always has the best catering, and we spent the day hanging out at the venue. The show went all as planned and everything went really smoothly. The show was another added to our list of favorites and we continued on our journey.
