Blood Bank release new track “Overcast” to benefit anti-abuse organization—listen

This Saturday, Aug. 12, Blood Bank, the duo of James Corbi (I Call Fives) and Wayne Wildrick (Man Overboard) will release their second track “Overcast” via Bandcamp. All the proceeds generated from sales will be donated directly to the Rape, Abuse And Incest National Network (RAINN), a foundation for women, men and children who have been the victims of sexual assault. “‘Overcast’ is a song about loss, destruction and the battles of loving after sexual abuse,” says Corbi. “I have been hesitant to talk about this on an open platform considering the sensitivity of this particular subject. I felt this would be an appropriate avenue.”

Listen to “Overcast”:

Corbi tells AP that he was moved by Wildrick’s music, and that the song came together quickly. “There was no question that instrumentally, in Wayne’s rhythm and tone, the theme of the song represented loss and desperation to me. Over time, I managed to harvest honest emotion and the appropriate context. I assembled the lyrics and put together an ode to loving someone who has been the victim of a violent sexual encounter. The struggles one can go through every day—no matter how much love you fill them with—their scars may never be able to heal.

“Listen to those who need to talk, and talk to those who need to be educated,” Corbi continues. “Shine your light and lift those out of the darkness. You are not alone.”
