“Sic Transit Gloria…Glory Fades”

finally got one, special thanks to @iamjuco for hooking me up with the artwork.

The subtle background of the casket only enhances the beautiful calligraphy. The perfect setting for these lyrics from Brand New’s 2003 release, “Sic Transit Gloria…Glory Fades.”

Old-school perfume bottle

This old-school tattoo of a perfume bottle not only features a reference to “Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don’t,” but also features a pun as well. What’s not to like?

The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

The detail put into the skull and zombie mask from one of the most iconic album covers in music history takes center stage. Also note the reference to “Not The Sun.”

“Some die looking for a hand to hold”

Another old-school tattoo, this one featuring another casket with beautiful flowers around it. One detail we really like is the human hand holding the skeleton hand.

Jesse Lacey

This portrait of Lacey adorned with flowers is the perfect tribute to Brand New.

Minimalistic

Any Brand New fan would immediately recognize the microphone stand covered in flowers as a tribute to the band; but to anyone else, this may just seem like a pretty tattoo.

Another beautiful minimalistic design in tribute of Brand New’s Daisy with some amazing calligraphy.

Deja Entendu

What would this list be without a tattoo in tribute of Deja Entendu? The grayscale astronaut adds a nice touch that really makes the piece stand out.

Best of both worlds

Had a lot of fun with this one. If you get it, you get it.

We’ve had tattoos in tribute of Deja Entendu, and we’ve had tattoos in tribute of The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me, but this tattoo combines them both so seamlessly. The only thing we’d change is adding a reference to Daisy, but that’s just us.

“The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot”

This tattoo features a detailed heart along with lyrics from one of our favorite Brand New songs.

Vivid flowers

Another reference to “The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot,” but this tattoo features gorgeous flowers with vivid colors.

Grayscale

OK, we admit it, we’re in love with “The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot,” and there are just so many good tattoos that express our affection for the song. The grayscale of the heart and umbrella truly make the tattoos have a somber feel to them.
