Since 2019 seems to be the year of throwbacks (hello 10-Year Challenge), let’s keep the ball rolling and go a little further back. Disney Channel has been releasing original movies for over two decades, but it seems they produced some of the best films in the late ’90s and early 2000s.

While we’re a week away from the live-action Kim Possible being rebooted for a Disney Channel Original Movie, there are plenty of OG DCOM flicks that have us reminiscing.

1. Smart House (1999)

Ben, a young teenager, enters a competition to win a house for his family after his mother passes away. The family wins the house, named Pat, and all is well, at least until Ben reprograms the house to act as a maternal figure. Chaos ensues when Pat becomes too overbearing and won’t let anyone in or out of the house.

2. Up, Up And Away (2000)

When you’re born into a family of superheroes, the least you could expect is to have some type of power, even if it’s not something as great as flying or super strength. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for Scott Marshall. Every single member in his family has a power, and if he doesn’t develop one by the time he’s 14, he’s normal for good. Even so, it’s up to Scott and his normal friends to save his family from Malcolm, a villian focused on erasing the memories of the heros.

3. The Thirteenth Year (1999)

Meet Cody Griffin, found in a boat by his adoptive parents and his origin a mystery. After his 13th birthday, strange things start to happen. He can generate electricity, swim extremely fast and when he gets wet, scales form on his hands and feet. With the help of his friend Jess, they come to the conclusion that Cody is mermaid (merman). Talk about a puberty nightmare.

4. Twitches (2005)

Tia and Tamera Mowry starred in this drama as Alex and Camryn. Much like their show Sister, Sister, the twins are separated at birth but find each other on their 21st birthday. Unknown to them, their magical home of Coventry is under attack by the Darkness, and it’s up to them to save it.

5. Zenon: Girl Of The 21st Century (1999)

Zedis Lapedis! It’s the year 2049, and 13-year-old Zenon Kar is orbiting above our atmosphere. After getting into trouble on the space station, her parents send her down to Earth. If making friends and understanding a new culture weren’t hard enough, Zenon also has to worry about an evil villain who’s trying to destroy her family’s home.

6. Mom’s Got A Date With A Vampire (2000)>/h5>

Adam Hansen and his older sister, Chelsea, have both been grounded from going out with friends. Luckily, their mother is about to go on a date with a new boyfriend, and they plan to sneak out. That is until their younger brother, Taylor, has suspicions that their mom’s new beau is a vampire.
7. The Cheetah Girls (2003)
