Crywolf shows off his emotional, acoustic side with new song "Weight"—listen

Crywolf was originally bred in the EDM scene. However, the versatile artist is making a change in sound with his new track “Weight,” diving into the acoustic, emotional realm.

Justin Taylor Phillips is the mastermind behind Crywolf. He spent his early days in Hong Kong and found footing in the U.S. as a teenager. His debut full length, Cataclasm, released in 2015.

“The process of growing as an artist is, in my opinion, a task of digging deeper and deeper into yourself. Striving to become more vulnerable and honest, with both yourself and your audience,” he says about his journey.

He continues: “As I've been trying to open myself up more, certain songs have come out of me that simultaneously terrify and excite me with their vulnerability. 'Weight' is one of those songs, one that came out of a spontaneous burst of uninhibited honesty… and in a way, it's self-descriptive.

“It's about the complex feeling of wanting to open up to someone, but also being terrified of giving parts of yourself away.”

Crywolf is heading out on a tour this February and March. See dates below, grab tickets here.
