The year is 2008: Neon pop punk is on the rise, trying to decide what song to set as your Myspace profile is your biggest struggle and your iPod Touch now has Bluetooth support. Sales of physical CDs may be declining but that didn't stop artists from putting out iconic albums we've continued to put on repeat ten years later. Here's a look back at 20 incredible albums that founded the soundtrack to our youth.

Fall Out Boy - Folie à Deux

RELEASE DATE: Dec. 16

FOB created a viral campaign and mixtape to promote their fourth studio album that was centered around a Big Brother-type organization called “Citizens For Our Betterment” (CFOB).

Panic! At The Disco - Pretty. Odd.

RELEASE DATE: March 25

The deluxe edition vinyl package of Panic's second studio album was nominated for “Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Packaging” at the 2009 Grammy Awards but ended up losing to Radiohead’s In Rainbows.

Bring Me The Horizon- Suicide Season

RELEASE DATE: Sept. 29

While the album cover of a girl holding her intestines seemed too controversial to some, frontman Oliver Sykes explained to Exclaim!: “The whole idea behind the cover is that the girl [on the cover] has her intestines out and it’s about spilling your guts basically, and opening up to the world.”

Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire

The title track from Bullet's second studio album is featured in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour, while the track “Hearts Burst into Fire” is featured in NHL 09.

Gym Class Heroes - The Quilt

RELEASE DATE: Sept. 9

Half of The Quilt's 14 tracks were produced by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, with Pete Wentz also receiving credit for working on the track “Catch Me If You Can.”

Breathe Carolina - It’s Classy, Not Classic

RELEASE DATE: Sept. 16

The debut studio album from electronic rock duo Breathe Carolina reached No. 186 on the Billboard 200 as well as No. 6 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

Every Avenue - Shh. Just Go With It
