Keep A Breast releases Music For Boobies compilation, ft. Sleeping With Sirens, Simple Plan, more

Here are some good tunes for a good cause; Keep A Breast has released a new compilation album, Music For Boobies Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The two volumes include 25 tracks by bands such as Falling In Reverse, Sleeping With Sirens, Motion City Soundtrack, Simple Plan and more.

The organization’s involvement with these bands started 15 years ago, when Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman discovered Keep A Breast.

Shaney Jo Darden, the founder of Keep A Breast, says they have been on Warped Tour to spread their message across the country. “There is no better and more authentic way for us to reach our core audience of teens with life-saving information,” says Darden.

The organization released their first compilation album, Check Yourself! Vol. 1, in 2014 in an effort to raise more awareness about breast cancer. “Rude Records approached us to propose a partnership, and we jumped at the opportunity,” says Darden. “Together, we collaborated with bands that we’ve known for years, and they also helped us connect with bands we’ve always wanted to work with.”

Darden enjoys the music on Music For Boobies. “I love 'Vice Grip' from Parkway Drive,” she says. “It’s funky, powerful and uplifting, all at once.”

This year’s compilation album shows off a new range of musicians and songs, some of whom have personal experience with breast cancer like techno music vocalist Simone Denny, a breast cancer survivor. Her song, “Breathe Again,” finishes off the album.

The album is available for purchase through the Music for Boobies website, and 50 percent of all proceeds go straight to Keep A Breast’s ongoing efforts.

Rou Reynolds, Enter Shikari

“When we were asked to be on this comp by the guys at Rude and Keep A Breast, we jumped at the chance as we’d met some of the Keep A Breast guys on Warped Tour and we were happy to lend one of our most heartfelt and passionate tracks to such a great cause.”

Chuck Comeau, Simple Plan

“Cancer has affected a lot of people very close to us: Pierre's brother and Jeff's mom are both cancer survivors and living through these very difficult situations has had a profound impact on the whole band. It made us want to get involved.  Helping out people dealing with this horrible disease has become one of the main goals of our charitable initiatives with the Simple Plan Foundation.

“It's always very important for us to use our music to support great causes like this and when we heard about the opportunity, we were stoked and honored to participate.”

Paul Thompson, Alvarez Kings

“We first heard of this wonderful charity on Warped Tour last year and were so impressed with the team and the organization as a whole. Great people, and a great work ethic. It inspired us, which is why we spent our time whenever we could to raise awareness doing signings at the tent and repping their T-shirts whilst onstage.”

“Very proud to be able to support Keep A Breast and be a part of this amazing compilation. Hope people enjoy our song 'Blue Light Special.' I have always wondered why this song didn't make an album, so it's great to have it out there with it proceeds going to a great place. “

“Keep A Breast is one of our favorite organizations. The work that they've done over the last 15 years is so important. It’s difficult to even put into words how beautiful it is to see all of these incredible bands coming together for such an amazing cause! We’re honored to be a part of it. Badass organizations like Keep A Breast working together with all of these awesome bands is a great reminder as to how powerful and awesome our music scene really is.”
