DRUMMER KEVIN BELJAN ON ELEGIES: “Merriam-Webster defines the word 'elegy' as 'a sad poem or song: a poem or song that expresses sorrow for someone that is dead,' and that’s what our EP is—it’s a five-song composition expressing and exploring loss. I lost my father to lung cancer in the fall of 2014, and it created a hole that will forever exist. In losing my father I lost an irreplaceable amount of unwavering, and pure, love. I lost my biggest fan. I lost the man that always picked up the phone, the man that always believed in me. The record also deals with my failed romantic endeavors, the deaths of relationships that were forever thwarted by my anxiety and depression. Elegies is an exploration of loss, of feeling unloved, and be unable to love; it is a light cast on all of our shadows.”
