Here are the performances to livestream this week
We’re well into this new temporary way of life of being stuck at home due to coronavirus. Retail stores, bars, restaurants and now movie theaters have closed their doors to the public. This means you’ve probably been sitting inside cycling through the same TV and movie options on Netflix and Hulu, as well as music playlists. However, there’s good news for music lovers. Several musicians are planning livestreams for fans to hear some stripped-down songs and ask some questions.

SiriusXM’s rock station Octane is letting some of your favorite musicians take over in their free Home Invasion series. Following Five Finger Death Punch, Korn, Halestorm, Motionless In White and Fire From The Gods, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold will kick off week six here May 11 at 7 a.m. EST. Future guests include Shinedown, Papa Roach, Nothing More, Asking Alexandria, I Prevail and more. Listeners can stream live from SiriusXM channel No. 37 or the SiriusXM app.

SiriusXM’s AltNation station will also be giving some of the nation’s biggest musicians the ability to DJ from home. twenty one pilots and Bishop Briggs hosted Inside Tracks previously, and Andrew McMahon will host this week. YUNGBLUD now has his own web show on YouTube Originals titled “Stay At Home With YUNGBLUD.” Similar to the YUNGBLUD Show, the singer will share music and connect with friends and family from self-isolation in his L.A. residence where he’s currently quarantined with his two bandmates, manager and videographer. You can stream his new weekly show at noon EST every Monday and check out the first, second and third episodes now. The series will spotlight the charity No Kid Hungry and encourage viewers to donate to the organization.

Metallica are hosting a concert series every week called “Metallica Mondays.” Fans can catch a concert from the legendary act every Monday on YouTube or Facebook at 8 p.m. EST.

Noise Pop is hosting its third week of artists for their “No Place Like Home” concert livestream series. In the past, they’ve streamed artists such as K.Flay. The series directly supports independent artists and venues across the San Francisco Bay Area. On May 19, Josiah Johnson (formerly of the Head And The Heart) will perform alongside opener Lauren O’Connell. On May 21, Fruit Bats and Vetiver will perform. All sets take place at 7 p.m. PST and can be streamed on Twitch, Facebook and YouTube.

All Time Low are hosting a benefit concert for their crew members. On May 22, Alex Gaskarth will take the virtual stage with his acoustic guitar, and the entire band will make an appearance at 5 p.m. EST. Each ticket for the stream costs $10, and all proceeds will directly go to the ATL crew affected by the pandemic. Tickets are available here starting at 1 p.m. EST Wednesday, May 13. The band will also be selling exclusive merch bundles with the livestream ticket.

Slay At Home
A new metal festival is coming to your desktop soon. Slay At Home is a free virtual metal music and arts festival benefitting MusiCares and GlobalGiving taking place May 29 and 30. You can stream the performance at Metal Injection’s YouTube page. Artists such as Silvertomb and Suicide Silence will be performing from their home, while Luc Lemay (Gorguts), Dave Davidson (Gargoyl), Liam Wilson (The Dillinger Escape Plan) and Elliot Hoffman (Carbomb) will be sharing commissioned music and cover collaborations with other artists. From May 27-29, several celebrities will be supporting NAMI and One Mind in their “Stronger Than You Think” event to address mental wellness for teens. Adam Lambert, Kesha, Haley Kiyoko, Liam Payne and Noah Cyrus are only a handful of stars who will take part in the stream. The livestream takes place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. PDT each day. It will be distributed across multiple platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and TikTok.
