See the Pokinatcha Punk slip into a “Fever Dream” in MxPx’s new video

Pop-punk emperors MxPx have no shortage of catchy yet rocking songs and super-energetic music videos. The new animated music video for “Fever Dream” is no exception to those two credos, and you can see it exclusively through AltPress right now.

The video itself for “Fever Dream” is an extremely welcome blessing during a time of a pandemic. It features an entertaining combination of sweet lyrics, the band’s beloved Pokinatcha Punk mascot and a live crowd at a pre-quarantine MxPx gig rocking the fuck out.

“Is this real life? I’m not sure, so I wrote a song to help us all figure out what is happening,” frontman Mike Herrera says about the new song. “‘Fever Dream’ is here to talk about our collective experience. Smack dab in the middle of the year, the world completely changed. [In the video for the song], watch as the MxPx mascot, the Pokinatcha Punk, slips into a fever dream of his own.”

In what truly feels like a dream during this dark time, the song will be available on all streaming platforms later today at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET. Fans can also grab some new merch and recap everything MxPx have been staying busy with during quarantine on mxpx.com.

If you’ve been keeping up with the band, you know they released a deluxe edition of their 2018 self-titled album this year and a new single “Worries.” MxPx followed that up with the release of a 30-song career retrospective livestream record called Life In Quarantine on all DSPs earlier this month. The live album was recorded during Herrera’s weekly acoustic guitar livestream sessions in April and May.

Until the band take the show back on the road, we have “Fever Dream” and the rest of MxPx’s quality catalog. Check out the new song and video below.
