12 new collabs your favorite musicians have made with rising artists

2021 has already started out as a strong year for music, with artists expanding their pool of collaborations more than ever.

After the train wreck that was 2020, musicians seem to be experimenting more often—spanning genres with collaborations and, in some cases, helping up-and-coming artists receive some limelight by featuring them on tracks.

Because we always love to find new music, we decided to find 10 new collaborations featuring some of our favorite artists and up-and-coming musicians who we can’t wait to hear more from. You can check that out below.

“Love Me” – Magnolia Park (feat. Kellin Quinn), “TDH2S” – Magnolia Park (feat. Ollie Baxxter)

Magnolia Park are proving that pop punk isn’t a genre from the past and enlisted alternative vets such as Sleeping With SirensKellin Quinn and Broadside’s Ollie Baxxter on their debut mixtape, Dream Eater. The band blend hip-hop, emo rock and pop punk to create catchy music with a grunge-y edge.

“You & I” – Pærish (feat. Patrick Miranda)

Pærish recently released “You & I” featuring Patrick Miranda of Movements, which appears on their upcoming sophomore album, Fixed It All. The song is all about love being worth the wait and sonically is a moody and guitar-heavy emo track.

“Can You Feel My Heart” – Jeris Johnson and Bring Me The Horizon, “Last Resort (Reloaded)” – Jeris Johnson and Papa Roach

Jeris Johnson has made a name for himself on TikTok, releasing viral remixes that have turned into official collaborations. At the beginning of the year, Johnson teamed up with Papa Roach for “Last Resort (Reloaded),” which is exactly what we needed to start out the new year. More recently, Johnson and Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes released a collab remix of the Sempiternal classic “Can You Feel My Heart.”

“Happy Endings” – Mike Shinoda (feat. iann dior and UPSAHL)

This collaboration between Mike Shinoda, iann dior and UPSAHL really made headlines because it was the first time a major-label artist successfully launched a single through NFT Auction. Aside from the milestone, the song itself is a banger. It really shows off the vocal talent of alt-pop powerhouse UPSAHL and dior’s obvious hip-hop influence. dior has already had plenty of star-studded collaborations, including 24kGoldn, Machine Gun Kelly and more. As for UPSAHL, this collab is one of the biggest moments of her career, outside of her viral TikTok fame.

“Shut Up” – Tyler Posey (feat. Travis Barker and phem)

Tyler Posey is no stranger to us, from his stint on Teen Wolf to his time in bands such as PVMNTS and Five North. But this year, he dropped “Shut Up,” his debut solo single with the legendary blink-182 drummer and phem. The song is a pop-punk anthem in its own right and makes us want to sing along. If you’re not familiar with phem, she’s teamed up with Machine Gun Kelly, iann dior and grandson in the past.

“Dark Love” – Sullivan King (feat. Aaron Gillespie)

Combining the darkness of metal with deep EDM bass drops, Sullivan King teamed up with Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie for a heavy beat-laden masterpiece in “Dark Love.” The track begins with striking guitar riffs before joined by King’s gritty vocals, which are later taken over completely by percussive explosions. In fact, it served as King’s debut single with Hopeless Records. “Dark Love” follows several other singles he’s released in previous months.

“The Eulogy Of You And Me” – LILHUDDY (feat. Travis Barker)

If you’re not heavily involved in the TikTok universe, Chase Hudson, aka LILHUDDY, might be a totally new name for you. He’s a TikTok star turned pop-punk star who released his second single in February, this time with Travis Barker. Because who else would be better to show you the alt-rock ropes? The song is co-written and produced by the blink-182 drummer and gives off a heavy dose of nostalgia of Warped Tour days.

“Patience” – KSI (feat. YUNGBLUD and Polo G)

YUNGBLUD has never been shy about collaborating with artists he’s a fan of and can relate to. Cue “Patience” with KSI and Polo G. The dreamy single almost takes on the sound of an indie-pop track with elements of hip-hop. KSI is a YouTuber turned musician whose collaborations include Trippie Redd, Rick Ross, Lil Pump and more. Rapper Polo G is best known for his 2019 track “Pop Out” with Lil Tjay. Since then, his collaborations have mostly remained in the hip-hop world, so both rappers definitely stepped out of their comfort zones with this YUNGBLUD collab.

“GASLIGHT!” – Maggie Lindemann (feat. Siiickbrain)

Maggie Lindemann not only got our attention when she released “GASLIGHT!” last year from her 2021 EP, PARANOIA, but so did her collaborators. Featured on the track is experimental artist Siiickbrain, whose screams hold their own as they echo in front of a reverberating bass and into the depths of your ears. The song is downright dark and scary but in a way that totally draws you in and makes you want to hear more.

“Perfume” – DE’WAYNE (feat. Awsten Knight)

Alternative singer/rapper DE’WAYNE and WaterparksAwsten Knight have a history long before the release of Perfume. DE’WAYNE supported Parx during their 2018 Entertainment tour and even joined the band onstage for “War Crimes” on their FANDOM run. Now, after teasing it for months, they dropped “Perfume,” a not-so-typical love song that exudes attitude and energy.
