Old Wounds rock out with a ballerina in “To Kill For”—watch

Old Wounds created a new music video for “To Kill For.” Featuring dark tones and rock melodies, the band are premiering the music video exclusively with AP.

“To Kill For” is the second single from the band’s new album, following “Give A Name To Your Pain” which previously premiered on AP. In this music video, Old Wounds are digging a little deeper into a more emotional sound.

The music video was directed by creative team the Widow Brothers, who also directed the band’s music video for “Only Your Enemies Leave Roses.”

“Any chance we can work with the Widow Brothers, we’ll take it,” frontman Kevin Iavaroni says. “It’s always a great pleasure working [and] creating with like-minded folks.”

Featuring a goth ballerina dancing to the heavy-rock track, the music video bathes the band in a red light. The song itself is creative and more melodic than Old Wounds’ previous songs, something that Iavaroni picked up on immediately.

“‘To Kill For’ was a culmination of Ben and myself’s fascination with melody. While keeping it fresh and very much something Old Wounds would write, we realized that this song was special,” he says.

The melody is brought out by the ballerina, dancing in a surreal-like manner so the viewer isn’t really sure if they’re there or not. Shots of her are sped up or slowed down to match the tempo of the music, but her dancing is always graceful.
