Pierce The Veil, Waterparks, Issues more tell us their favorite city to play in

When you’re on tour 200 days out of the year, you’d think all the cities would blend together. But for these artists, there are clear favorites. Here’s what they said when we asked them their favorite place to play.

Vic Fuentes, Pierce The Veil

I’ve always said that I enjoy the cities the most when you can feel it and you can see it right away. Cities that are so unique that you know right away from the smell, the heat or the cold or the streets. For example, New Orleans is one of my favorites because you know you can smell the sweet, hot air. When you’re in New Orleans, you know where you’re at. You know the cobblestone streets, the style of the buildings and you can feel the humidity. You can smell the food and hear the music. That’s one of my favorites. I guess Seattle is one of my favorite cities ever. I love the rain, the crisp air there [and] the people. Those are a couple of my favorites.

Garret Rapp, the Color Morale

San Antonio, Texas. You ask anyone in a band, and I guarantee almost every band will say one of their top five favorite cities is San Antonio. The kids, the energy—everyone's really appreciative of music and just authentically happy. I've never played a bad show there. I don't think you could.

Keaton Pierce, Too Close To Touch

New York City or Orlando. Atlanta's always fun, too. We've played New York City so many times and we have an ever-evolving fanbase there.

I love playing Madrid and Barcelona [Spain]. London's always sick. For the U.S., Boston's always great.

Awsten Knight, Waterparks

Houston. It's our hometown, everyone's really nice. And now, they're all like, “You did it!” and I'm like, “Sorta?” [Laughs.] And they're all really proud.

Brian Dales, the Summer Set

London. For some reason, we do really well in the U.K. and London has become like a really bread-and-butter show for us; we always do really great shows in London. KOKO would probably be my favorite venue there, or Shepherd’s Bush [Empire]. We played with All Time Low there and that was really cool; it's a beautiful theater. And we like playing in LA, where we live; a lot of friends and family come out.

Chrissy Costanza, Against The Current

That's so hard! It's like, every region has its peak, so I love playing New York, but overseas I love playing Tokyo, and Europe has London. So it's hard, but every city has something special. I've been trying to force myself to do a lot more exploring, especially on the last Europe run we did, because it's really easy to be like, “Oh, I'm tired.” My day starts at 1 p.m. so if you want to explore you have to wake up earlier, unless there's an off day. But I've been like, “Okay, at least go get coffee. Like, go find a local coffeeshop, not a Starbucks.” Just get out of the bus and out of the venue, for an hour even.

Chicago. It's just wild.

Daniel Wand, Capsize

Anywhere in Southern California, anywhere in central Texas. LA or Orange County or San Antonio or Austin. Those are all great to us.

Atlanta is one of my favorites. They just go off, and it's consistent, every time we're there. I'm like, “Ugh, hopefully this lives up to it,” and every time everybody goes hard.
