After studying abroad in France for about a year, Europe has become like a second home to me. The pop-punk scene here is awesome, and I’ve had so much fun going to shows and meeting people with the same taste in music. It just goes to show no matter where you are in the world, music has a magical way of bringing people together. Here are 10 sick pop-punk bands from Europe that show that great music is everywhere.

HIGHTOWER (France)

Hightower was founded in 2012 by two cousins who grew up on ‘90s punk rock. They hail from Paris, France, and are on the independent label KROD Records. They just put out their second album, Club Dragon, in September and are hitting the road with Daggermouth for a European tour this April.

SHADED (U.K.)

SHADED are a group of lads from Surrey, England, who just put out their debut EP, The Better Man In Me, on Sept. 1. Although this is their first EP, they already have an awesome sound and have been hard at work playing shows up and down the mainland, which makes them one U.K. pop-punk band to keep an eye on.

WHY EVERYONE LEFT (Italy)

This infectiously catchy band hails from Modena, Italy, and recently signed to Penultimate Records. They’ve played with a handful of bigger bands, including Four Year Strong, Seaway, Knuckle Puck and ROAM, and are currently working on their next EP with Seb Barlow. Also, check out their awesome cover of Counting Crows’ “Accidentally In Love.”

BACK GARDEN LIGHT (France)

Right off the bat, if you’re a fan of easycore, you will love these guys. Back Garden Light are from Bordeaux, France, and if they sound familiar to you, it’s because their debut EP, Life’s A Game, was mixed and mastered by Eric and Bertrand Poncet from Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! They also have a sweet EZ cover of “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5.

MAYPINE (U.K.)

MAYPINE are another new U.K. pop-punk band who have quickly made a name for themselves and opened for the likes of ROAM and Silverstein. From the south coast of the U.K., they have toured extensively since starting the band. They hit the studio in January to track a new EP, set for this spring.

HEY AMBER (Italy)

This handsome trio of dudes are from Brescia, Italy. They have a really unique sound to them and are currently working on a full-length album. Their singer, Lory Tinti, also posts really cool covers on his YouTube channel. These guys have a great image and a ton of talent, and we’re pumped to see more from them in the future.

ALL THESE YEARS (U.K.)

All These Years describe themselves as a fun-loving four-piece pop-punk band from Hertfordshire, England. They’ve been working hard playing weekenders and selling merch in the U.K. scene, and are currently working on their next release.

STORYTELLER (Germany)

This five-piece is from Dessau, Germany, and are on Let It Burn Records. They toured with As It Is and ROAM last summer and recently finished off a tour of Germany with WSTR and Weatherstate. They have a fast and gritty sound, and have quickly built a name for themselves as one of Deutschland’s finest pop-punk acts.

TREEHOUSE KIDS (Spain)

Treehouse Kids hail from Barcelona, Spain, and are one of the few shining diamonds of the Mediterranean pop-punk scene. Last February, they were lucky enough to tour Spain opening for State Champs and As It Is. They’re going in to start recording a new album in early 2018.

CITY KIDS FEEL THE BEAT (Germany)

These energetic dudes are from Ulm, Germany, and their songs are sure to be stuck in your head for days. Their catchy tunes have a way of invading your mind and making you feel like dancing. They also have a pretty cool acoustic cover of “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World up on their Facebook page. They are currently preparing to hit the road again in Germany in February.
