We used predictive text to rewrite these My Chemical Romance songs
Pedictive text is a great and hilarious tool that can take a simple line of text and change it into something else entirely. The idea behind it is fantastic: a feature used mostly with phones and tablets that is meant to make text messaging easier by suggesting words to a user based on the letters being entered and overall context of the phrase being written. But more often than not, the suggested text takes on a mind of its own in the best, or worst, way.

You may have seen the viral social media post where Botnik Studios used the predictive text feature to rewrite an entire Harry Potter book, and the results were nothing short of hilarious. This got me thinking, “I wonder if I can use predictive text to rewrite some MCR songs…”
It was no easy task considering I first needed to train a predictive text keyboard on My Chemical Romance lyrics. Luckily, Botnik has a badass predictive text app that lets you upload custom source texts straight into a keyboad. I created a source text using the top five MCR songs on Spotify, then used the custom keyboard to rewrite those top played songs. The results are weird, hilarious and slightly terrifying in true predictive text fashion.
