Glixen unveil crushing, sensual new song “lust”

Earlier this year, we named Glixen one of our breakout bands for their towering, sensual shoegaze. Since then, they’ve played Nothing’s Slide Away Festival, including joining Glare at the LA date, and today they’re back with another enthralling cut called “lust.”

The new song continues the heavier sound they embraced with their February single “foreversoon,” which was mixed by Seattle legend Jack Endino. Now, they’ve tapped another vet, Sonny DiPerri (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails), for their latest. The track was produced by Anthony Bryant and mastered by Howie Weinberg, serving as another preview from their DiPerri-produced sophomore EP, due out before the end of the year.

“‘lust’ is about the yearning and wanting of somebody and the rush that that person makes you feel,” bandleader Aislinn Ritchie says. “It is a feeling that is shallow, yet it feels intense and passionate but only for a moment. We wanted to take the direction of our sound to a heavier place. I wanted the weight of the sound to crush me.”

Later this year, Glixen will play shows with Interpol, DIIV, and SASAMI, and you can grab tickets here. Listen to “lust” below.
