ROMES debut laid-back track, “On Top”—listen

ROMES are premiering their brand new track, “On Top,” the latest single release from their forthcoming self-titled record.

“‘On Top’ was the first track we recorded for the album,” says vocalist Jacob Alexander. “The whole song started around the driving drum beat and really came to life in the studio when we ran all the drum fills through a Korg Kaossilator and stacked layers upon layers of vocal chants. The song was written about the importance of being there for loved ones while they’re going through particularly difficult times in their lives and definitely one of our favourites on the album.”

Hailing from Toronto, ROMES’ indie-rock, pop-infused tracks earned them a spot as one of our 17 artists to watch in 2017. Produced and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Phoenix, Fitz And The Tantrums, M83), their debut LP will drop Oct. 6 via Five Seven Music, and will also feature singles “Tryna Be” and “Believe.”
