Stevens formed the synth-driven post-hardcore outfit Scary Kids Scaring Kids in Arizona in 2002. After releasing their debut EP, After Dark, the band would go on to release two full-length albums—The City Sleeps In Flames (2005) and Scary Kids Scaring Kids (2007). The group signed a major label deal with RCA Records, before announcing their breakup in 2009.

The group then disbanded following their farewell tour in 2010.

In October 2014, Stevens tragically passed away at the age of 29.

Today, on what would have been his 34th birthday, SKSK have debuted a new track titled “Loved Forever” in celebration of the late singer.

“The sudden passing of our friend Tyson Stevens left us all with heavy hearts heard all over the world,” former SKSK guitarist Chad Crawford says. “It’s unbelievable that it has been five years and for many still a distant reality. Today would have been our friend Tyson’s 34th birthday. His memory is still very alive and well in the songs that changed our lives. You will be loved forever.”

You can listen to “Loved Forever,” written by Crawford and produced by Hiram Hernandez, below.

The track marks the first new music from Scary Kids Scaring Kids since the re-release of their After Dark EP in 2017. The first-ever vinyl release of the debut EP featured four previously unreleased bonus tracks.
