Song Premiere: Allison Weiss, "One Way Love" (Sideways Sessions version)

Allison Weiss released her new album Say What You Mean last spring, but when working on a little something extra for supporters of the album, she ended up creating yet another version of it titled The Sideways Sessions, which will see its release November 26 via No Sleep Records.

“The Sideways Sessions started out as a Kickstarter reward, but we got a little carried away,” says Weiss. “My producer (Chris Kuffner) and I ended up making an entirely new version of Say What You Mean. It was pretty cool to get to rework the songs in such a different way. I took it as a chance to embrace my love for the alt-country/folk world.

“The original version of OWL is this fun upbeat pop punk jam, and for Sideways Sessions we took it to a whole new place. Same lyrics, totally different feeling. It's a lot darker and I love it. It's definitely one of my favorite tracks we did.
