Song Premiere: Andrew McMahon, "Catching Cold"

Andrew McMahon's first solo EP, The Pop Undergound will see its release tomorrow, April 30. Before the release, we're giving you a first listen to track two, “Catching Cold.” McMahon told AP how our shared home state, Ohio, inspired the song:

“Writing and recording 'Catching Cold' was one of my favorite experiences of the EP. [Producer] Mark Williams and I had been in his studio in Brooklyn for nearly 10 hours chasing down all the wrong inspiration,” says McMahon.

“I received a phone call from an old friend and it brought back this flood of memories from my days growing up in Ohio. I returned to the studio and within an hour we had the frame for the whole song up and running. When I took this back to Tony Hoffer he did some amazing things with the programming and synths that put it over the top for me.”

McMahon is currently on his solo tour and will embark on dates supporting O.A.R. this summer. You can find full tour dates and details on his tour page.
