Song Premiere: Light Years, "Hindsight"

Light Years dared to be bold and try out something new when mapping out “Hindsight,” the stand-out different eighth track from their upcoming album, I Won't Hold This Against You.

“There was a lot of speculation and talk in the studio if it would turn out the way we wanted it to or if it would end up being a cheesy 'radio rock' song that would feel out of place,” says frontman Pat Kennedy of the song, which he describes as “drastically different” for the band.

Kennedy adds that the song comes from a very personal place in his life.

“Lyrically, it's the most personal song I have ever written, it's about losing my dad a few years ago. It was a really hard time in my life obviously, but at the same time it kind of made me realize that you need to do things in your life that make you happy, regardless of what other people say or think, because in the end of all this shit that we call life, that's really all that matters.”
