In April, 2010, Octaves released their debut album, Greener Pastures, on Hotfoot Records, and to gear up for its vinyl release early this year via TopShelf Records, we're streaming “Absent Kids Count” from the album and offering a free download.

Of the concept behind “Absent Kids Count,” frontman Phil Fosler says, “To put it in a cliche nutshell, that song is pretty much about the decline of Western Civilization via our growing dependency on technology. More specifically, my getting stoned to cope with said decline… and something about brothers… I forget.”
