Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. For many, this means spending an absurd amount of money on chocolate, teddy bears and roses. For others, Feb. 14 is seen as nothing more than Singles Awareness Day. But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing; maybe you’re happy as the free bird that you are. These 14 songs are here to remind you how awesome you are and how sorry your ex should be for losing someone as great as you.

“Since U Been Gone” by A Day To Remember

While we all know Kelly Clarkson’s No. 1 hit: A Day To Remember do an amazing job of adding a little more anger to the lyrics of this early 2000s classic. And while we don’t condone breaking into your ex’s apartment and breaking all the furniture, it’s still pretty gratifying to watch the guys in ADTR do it for you.

“Picture Day” by The White Noise

On the flip side, maybe you’re already “busy moving on” from that last schmuck. If so, the hardcore punk of the Cali-based band the White Noise is the jam for you—as well as a good reminder to never call your ex ever again.

“Thrash Unreal” by Against Me!

Perhaps the single life has always been the life for you, and you couldn’t give less of a damn about Valentine’s Day. If that’s the case, then the catchy chorus on “Thrash Unreal” is your go-to for driving around with your car radio on blast this holiday.

“Stella” by All Time Low

Did anyone else know that this song was about beer? Yeah, like Stella Artois. Who needs to be in a relationship when you can have a fun night out on the town? Just make sure you don’t blackout. Which leads to our next party anthem for Valentine’s Day…

“Blackout” by Breathe Carolina

This is an amazing jam to motivate you to get up and go out. You know you don’t need any relationship to tie you down, and you won’t let that stop you from having fun. Though you might conveniently leave your phone in the cab when a certain someone calls…

“I Don’t Wanna Be In Love (Dance Floor Anthem)” by Good Charlotte

The title kind of speaks for itself on this track, but if you want to go out and dance the night away, this is definitely a great throwback to request from the DJ.

“No Scrubs” by TLC

Speaking of throwbacks, “No Scrubs” has been the staple anti-Valentine’s Day song to bust out every February since it first dropped nearly 20 years ago. . Though we seldom use the phrase “scrub” anymore, it’s definitely a much more radio friendly phrase than “fuck boy”—and we don’t need those, either.

“Blank Space” by I Prevail

T. Swift is the queen of songs about relationships, but I Prevail really took it up a notch when they covered her hit single, “Blank Space.” Sometimes it’s more fun to scream some of the verses in that track than to try to sing and hit the same notes as Taylor.

“Summertime Gladness” by Dance Gavin Dance

As with most Dance Gavin Dance songs, we’re not entirely sure what this song is about. We also have no idea what “Endorphin, orphan, morphin/lemon cheese equally” or “1+2 is nine times red” means, but singing back the phrase “Kiss yo’ ass goodbye” is always a great chant to get you through any thoughts of that unfortunate ex.

“Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” by Fall Out Boy

Here’s a track for all of you old-school Fall Out Boy fans. Obviously, this is one of the best I-don’t-need-you tracks ever. Who doesn’t love the great, ironic sting in the famous line “Thanks for the memories, even though they weren’t so great”?

“My House” by PVRIS

Perhaps you just got out of a relationship, like super-recently. If that’s the case, then empower yourself with the incredible lyricism of Lynn Gunn.

“Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber

People tend to hate on Justin Bieber a lot, but it’s no surprise that the jazzy, biting lyrics of “Love Yourself” dominated the charts in 2015. It was the breakup song of that year, and for good reason. Who needs someone if your mama don’t like them?

“All You Are Is History” by State Champs

OK, maybe Bieber is a bit too mainstream. If that’s the case, then “All You Are Is History” is the perfect pop-punk banger for you this Valentine’s Day. Be a realist, be an optimist and embrace the new freedom of being single!

“Roses” by Outkast

And at the end of the day, always remember, roses don’t always smell that great.
