Spike’s Lip Sync Battle has offered glorious performances over its three seasons, from Channing Tatum channeling his inner Beyoncé to Gigi Hadid getting “Larger Than Life” with half of the Backstreet Boys. While there have been plenty of pop and hip-hop tracks, the series has also had a collection of rad alternative performances, a few of which you can check out below. Will Arnett – “Everything Is Awesome” by Tegan And Sara featuring the Lonely Island
Will Arnett tackled Tegan And Sara and the Lonely Island’s Academy Award-nominated track from The Lego Movie (in which he stars as Batman/Bruce Wayne). He even used the construction scene from the film as inspiration for his performance.
When she wasn’t too busy kicking ass in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Zoe Saldana offered a condensed remake of the “Stressed Out” video, complete with a literal interpretation of Blurryface.
If his past wardrobe choices are any indication, then it’s certainly no secret that Justin Bieber is a fan of rock, from Nirvana to Marilyn Manson. While a take on either of those would have been cool, nothing seems quite as epic as tackling the Prince Of Darkness—bat and all.
Hayden Panettiere – “One Way Or Another” by Blondie
Hayden Panettiere might portray a country superstar on Nashville, but she clearly knows how to rock out, too.
Gregg Sulkin – “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” by the Darkness
Pretty Little Liars and Faking It star Gregg Sulkin really went all in on his rendition of this glam rock-influenced hit from the Darkness, stripping off his hoodie and whipping out some air guitar moves.
Tyler Posey is best known for his portrayal of wide-eyed Good Guy(™) Scott McCall in MTV’s Teen Wolf, but the actor has also made his love of pop-punk obvious, from covering Blink-182 with Neck Deep bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans to jumping on stage with State Champs. Add in the fact he chose this Harvey Danger hit, and it becomes pretty clear Posey has quite the rockin’ playlist.
Hayley Atwell – “Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)” by the Offspring
Taking a break from her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel universe, actress Hayley Atwell used the Offspring’s lyrics as ammo against co-star and competitor Clark Gregg.
Joel McHale’s got so into his take on Imagine Dragons’ indie rock hit that it garnered a little behind-the-scenes assistance from host LL Cool J and a few “wow” moments from commentator Chrissy Teigen.
Amber Tamblyn and her The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants co-star America Ferrera make quite a pair—so much so that not even Hillary Clinton can keep them apart, as evidenced with a little help from the words of Alanis Morissette.
Pop-rock turned country singer Cassadee Pope embraced her roots with a dramatic interpretation of the Panic! At The Disco classic with a little help from frontman Brendon Urie himself.
