Erra – Jesse Cash

Erra’s breed of prog-metalcore wouldn’t be possible without guitarist Jesse Cash’s distinguished cleans. He’s able to elevate his voice higher than most, while still sounding cohesive alongside the band’s heavier moments. Seriously, just listen to this guy.

Lukas Magyar – Veil Of Maya

Veil Of Maya returned with a vengeance in 2015. After adding current frontman Lukas Magyar, they released Matriarch—a metalcore masterpiece in every aspect. Sure Magyar can scream, but he pulls double duty with incredible cleans.

Aaron Gillespie – Underoath

Aaron Gillespie continues to be a the crucial player  that separates Underoath from the rest of heavy music. Outside of the band’s crushing riffs and guttural vocals, Gillespie juxtaposes soaring melodies and robust drumming to create a cataclysmic formula.

Michael Lessard – The Contortionist

At one point, the Contortionist were a surging deathcore juggernaut. As the years progressed however, the band traded in their breakdowns for ethereal ambience. Check out their most recent LP, Language, to hear vocalist Michael Lessard shine.

Spencer Sotelo – Periphery, From First To Last

What are the two things you think of when you hear Periphery? Slamming riffs and, of course, Spencer Sotelo’s signature cleans. Now, you can also hear him do his thing in From First To Last.
